Si trova a quota 1902 m nella Busa di Monsampiàn all'estremità occidentale delle Vette Feltrine nel Parco Nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi.
Malga Monsampiàn si trova al centro della caratteristica Busa di Monsampiàn, un circolo glaciale chiuso ad est dalle pendici del Front, a nord dal Passo Pavione e ad ovest dalla Vallazza. È raggiungibile dal Rifugio Dal Piaz e dall'abitato di Aune percorrendo il sentiero CAI 810, da Zorzoi lungo il sentiero CAI 818 e dal Passo Pavione lungo il sentiero CAI 817.
