In the upper part of the Val di Tovel there is the well-known Malga Flavona with a bivouac that is always open, an important point of support for many high altitude excursions. The area of Malga Flavona and the surrounding area constitute a biotope of important naturalistic and faunal value.

Above the Val di Tovel there is the Malga Flavona at 1858 m, surrounded by the spectacular and famous Brenta Dolomites where unique but little-frequented places are born. One of these is Campo Flavona, a painful-mythical stage that remains in the heart! Campo Flavona is the base of a wide valley upstream of the famous Lake Tovel towards Passo del Grostè. It is a very large area and therefore to be discovered on several occasions.Certainly the vast prairie in the middle of which Malga Flavona rises is astonishing: here at the beginning of summer the cows are brought to the mountain pastures and remain there until the beginning of September. The cattle are managed by a family that lives in this spectacular environment for the whole period.Another feature of Campo Flavona is the Western scenery that it evokes, thanks to the two imposing rocky spurs that overlook the green prairie. These are the Turrion Basso and Turrion Alto, two dolomitic towers which, crumbling, have lost their momentum forming large scree.

Directions

To get to Campo Flavona and the hut of the same name, you have to go by your own means (or by shuttles in summer) to Lake Tovel. From here, continue for 2 hours on a comfortable forest road to Malga Pozzol to add a half hour climb on the path and reach Malga Flavona.
