The Lidernenhütte SAC is located at 1727 m above the Riemenstaldnertal in the canton of Uri. The hut of the Mythen section is a versatile base for hiking, climbing and ski tours.
The Lidernenhütte SAC is located at 1727 m above Lake Lucerne on the slopes of the Riemenstaldner Valley in the canton of Uri and belongs to the Mythen section. It is manned from spring to fall as well as during a long winter season and serves as a base camp for hikes, climbing tours, ski and snowshoe tours as well as courses and family camps. On the sun terrace and in the cozy parlors, fresh, home-cooked meals are served with many products from the surrounding alpine farms; during the day, rösti, soups and cakes are particularly popular; for overnight guests, half-board is available with a four-course dinner and a rich breakfast buffet. The hut can be reached in 1.5 to 2 hours' ascent from Riemenstalden/Chäppeliberg or in around 15 minutes from the mountain station of the Chäppeliberg-Spilau cable car; other access routes lead from Muotathal, Stoos, Eggbergen or via the Rophaien. The hut is a stage and base point for multi-day undertakings, summit tours on Rossstock, Fulen or Chaiserstock and leisurely family hikes. Current conditions, any closures and the weather forecast should be checked carefully before each tour. The hut was built in 1944, later extended and modernized several times, but remains the property of the SAC Mythen section.

Rooms

At the Lidernenhütte, you will spend the night exclusively in simple dormitories; a total of around 85 sleeping places with comforters and pillows are available. A hut sleeping bag is obligatory, and a reservation is required for both the serviced hut and the winter room. Dinner is usually served at 6:30 pm, breakfast between 7 and 8 am, usually as part of a half-board arrangement. Sanitary facilities consist of washrooms with running but not hot water, there are no showers. Electricity is available, but sockets are limited, so it is worth having your own power bank; Wi-Fi is not offered, but there is good mobile phone reception outside the hut. In the unattended interim period, there is a winter room with basic cooking facilities and 27 sleeping places where you can bring your own food. You can pay conveniently in cash or by card, and in the winter room also by Twint. Dogs are not allowed in the parlor, bedrooms and drying room and are only allowed on the terrace on a lead, which is why overnight stays with pets are not permitted.

Food and drink

The cuisine at the Lidernenhütte consistently focuses on regional and home-made products: The rösti prepared on the wood stove with alpine cheese, eggs from the region and bacon from Schwyz are particularly well-known. Fresh soups, cold platters, cakes, fruit tarts and the much-praised Linzer torte are also served daily; in the evening, overnight guests enjoy a four-course menu and in the morning a breakfast buffet with regional specialties.
