Shelter for hikers and cyclists - perfect for a well-deserved break with a view!
The Hugo Kracht Hut is located approximately halfway between the Bad Laasphe spa park and the Entenberg and is a popular and well-suited resting place for hikers and cyclists. The large hut offers sheltered seating and tables inside as well as outside in the summer. Its elevated location provides wonderful views of the Hessian and Wittgenstein mountain ranges.
Even in 1896, there was a shelter at this location, and in its current form, it has existed since 1950. It is named after a prominent supporter of Laaspher, Hugo Kracht, a native of Gelsenkirchen, who played a significant role in the SGV work, the creation of the local hiking network, and the development of hiking tourism.
In his honor, the hut was named after him and is still operated by the SGV today.
