Die urige und rustikale Hütte liegt auf 2050 m Höhe mit bestem Blick auf die Ammergauer Alpen, das Wettersteinmassiv mit der Zugspitze und die Mieminger Kette. Die Inneneinrichtung ist mit traditionellen Holzmöbeln ausgestattet und mit modernen Materialien ergänzt. Das Selbstbedienungsrestaurant mit offener Schauküche bietet Platz für 120 Personen. Weitere 25 Plätze sind in dem Bauernstüberl mit Kachelofen und 250 Plätze auf der Sonnenterrasse zu finden. Die Küche verwendet hauptsächlich regionale Produkte und veranstaltet im Sommer 14-tägig einen Grillabend. Im Winter ist eine Après-Ski-Schirmbar aufgebaut. Die Zimmer sind hell und komfortabel, aber auch funktionell eingerichtet. Übernachtungen müssen vorab reserviert werden und sind nur im Sommer möglich.
