A year-round base for mountain and nature lovers Our house is the perfect starting point for skiing and hiking vacations, but it’s also ideal for short getaways or long weekends —whether in summer when the weather is perfect for hiking or in winter in the snow-sure mountain landscape around Gosau. Its location in the heart of the Dachstein region offers an impressive natural backdrop, numerous recreational opportunities (lakes, outdoor pools, toboggan run), and excellent access to ski lifts and surrounding towns such as Hallstatt, Bad Goisern, and Bad Ischl. Well-known destinations such as the Gosau Lakes, Hofpürglhütte, Löckermoor, Steinbruch, and more are right nearby, including a toboggan run that’s free to use!
Getting Here By train: to Steeg, then continue by bus
By car: via Linz – Regau – Gmunden – Bad Ischl – Bad Goisern – Gosau. In the Gosau Hintertal, cross the small bridge—the house is immediately on the left.
Amenities The house has two separate living units, each with:
1 triple room (3 single beds)
1 quadruple room (1 bunk bed, 2 single beds)
a fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stove/oven, dishes, silverware, coffee maker...)
coin-operated shower (€0.50)
toilet, heating, and wood-burning stove
1 parking space per floor (no charging option for electric cars)
Vacuum cleaner, mop, and bucket
Please bring Bedding / quilt or hiking sleeping bag (depending on how cold you feel) Only bedspreads are provided!
Sheets, hand towels, dish towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, toiletries, food, etc.
For hygiene reasons, dogs and other pets are not allowed.
Shops, restaurants, and a bakery are within easy walking distance or accessible by bus. The local (ski) bus stops right after the bridge—with good public transportation connections to other towns and ski resorts as well.
Reservations Bookings are available starting October 1 (or the next business day) at 9 a.m. for stays through Christmas of the following year.
Bookingsfor Christmas and semester break dates are made exclusively by phone.
Stays over New Year’s Eve are not possible.
A stay is only possible if at least 50% of the guests are members of the Alpine Club! Membership information and the deposit (50% of the estimated cost of the stay) must be received within 7 days —otherwise, guests from the waiting list will be moved up.
