Die Hütte befindet sich auf einer Höhe von 1242m und ist eine von drei Berggasthütten zwischen Tegernsee und Schliersee und liegt am Sattel zwischen Gindelalmschneid und Auerberg. Die Gindelalm 2 liegt nur wenige Schritte entfernt von der Gindelalm 1 und 3, die von verschiedenen Eigentümern bewirtschaftet werden. Auf der Hütte werden Bayerische Speisen sowie Brotzeit serviert. Nur Barzahlung möglich.
