Vorübergehend geschlossen. Auf 769 m über dem Meeresspiegel erwartet die Besucher des Gasthauses „Hohe Warte“ heimatlich-rustikales Flair, vorzügliche Thüringer Küche und im Sommer ein großzügiger Biergarten. Tipp: Legendär ist das Ritteressen des Hauses, eine 7-Gänge-Menü-Gaudi, bei der unter gekonntem Verzicht auf Messer und Gabel und mittelalterlich kostümiert geschmaust werden kann. Darüber hinaus entlohnt ein herrlicher Rundumblick über den Thüringer Wald den Aufstieg zum gleichnamigen Berg, der vom 32 m hohen Carl-Eduard-Turm besonders schön ist. Für Wanderer oder Fahrradfahrer ein wunderbares Ausflugsziel, doch ebenso gut für Tagesausflügler mit dem Pkw oder Motorrad zu erreichen.
