Remsquelle Trout Farm, located between Essingen and Lauterburg at the foot of the Ostalbtraufe.
Welcome to our trout farm.
Located in the Gerwiesen region, between Essingen and Lauterburg, we have been running our Remsquelle trout farm with great passion since 1990.
Traditional craftsmanship and species-appropriate animal husbandry are particularly important to us. The low stocking density in the ponds, ample time, pure spring water, and top-quality feed ensure the healthy and natural growth of our fish.
In our farm store, you can purchase freshly caught rainbow trout, salmon trout, and brook trout year-round. During the Christmas season, we also offer fresh eel and carp. The fish are caught fresh from the waters of the Remsquelle and can be gutted upon request. We’re known far and wide for our smoked fish. The fresh fish are cured according to a traditional recipe and smoked over beech wood and aromatic juniper. We smoke fresh fish daily upon order.
As participants in this year’s Remstal Garden Show, we’ve extended our hours for you. Visit our farm stand or join us as a guest at our Forellenstüble. Take a seat on our sun terrace and enjoy our smoked or grilled trout. And for dessert, we have a sweet treat in store for you—our delicious cakes and pastries served with a cup of coffee.
And for our younger guests, there’s a playground right next door.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little natural paradise.
