Rooms
The Chamanna d'Es-Cha offers around 50 beds in shared rooms with comforters; there is also an unattended winter room with ten emergency places, which is only open by prior arrangement. The rooms are set up as simple dormitories for six to fifteen people. Reservations are made via an online system and only become valid after confirmation by e-mail; changes at short notice and late cancellations may be charged. Bed linen is provided, but the team recommends that you bring your own sleeping bag. Hut boots are provided so that mountain boots can remain in the entrance and ski room. The hut has a water toilet and a cold water washing facility; hot showers are available in summer for a fee, in winter the showers remain closed. Electricity is generated by a solar system, there is a power strip in the restaurant where cell phones can be charged, the internal WLAN is not accessible to guests. Mobile phone reception can be found within a few minutes' walk of the hut. Payment is preferably made in cash in Swiss francs or euros, card payment is possible with a small surcharge. As a classic SAC hut, it is simply but functionally equipped and caters to mountaineers, ski touring and long-distance hiking groups as well as families.Food and drink
The kitchen at the Chamanna d'Es-Cha serves a home-cooked multi-course menu with soup, salad, main course and dessert as well as a hearty breakfast with marching tea as part of the half-board package. Tasty classics such as barley soup, alpine dishes, pizzocheri and Engadine nut cake are popular; vegetarian and gluten- or lactose-free options and packed lunches for the next day are also available on request.Sleeping beds

from CHF24.00For SAC members aged 23 and over, the overnight stay costs CHF 39, with half board CHF 75. Non-members aged 18 and over pay CHF 46 and CHF 87 respectively. There are reduced rates for young people and children; children up to the age of 6 receive half board from CHF 26. Half-board includes dinner with soup, salad, main course and dessert as well as breakfast and 1 liter of marching tea.

Public transport
In summer, travel to Madulain, La Punt or Preda on the Rhaetian Railway and take the Alpin bus from La Punt to the La Punt stop, Es-cha parking lot on the Albula Pass road. In winter, the journey is usually by Rhaetian Railway to Madulain, from where the ascent to the hut begins on skis or snowshoes.Get Timetable to destination
Parking
From the Engadin, drive to La Punt and turn onto the Albula Pass road in the village; after about ten minutes, you will reach the signposted Punt Granda / Parkplatz Es-cha parking lot on the left, which is free of charge and can also be used for tours lasting several days. Coming from Bergün, the same parking lot is about four minutes after the top of the pass on the right-hand side of the road.Coordinates
