Chalet de Vauchignon

The Chalet de Vauchignon is located at 350 m in the village of Cormot-Vauchignon in the Côte-d'Or and is the only FFCAM base in Burgundy. Two simple, unattended chalets - Rosselet with 14 beds and Boulu with 10 beds - together make up the hut, just below the cliffs of Cormot and close to the GR7, the Jean-Marc-Boivin trail, the Trois Croix and the Trois Monts. There is no chalet service, no drinks and no meals; guests are completely self-catering in the equipped kitchens with crockery and cooking utensils. Both chalets have lounges, sanitary facilities with WC, washroom, showers and hot and cold water; the bedrooms are simple, unheated dormitories without bedding; guests must bring their own sleeping bag. The hut can be reached via Rue du Ruisseau; access is possible for cars, but not suitable for camper vans. There is a 3 km footpath from the village of Nolay to Vauchignon, and the surrounding area offers numerous hiking trails, climbing routes, VTT routes and snowshoe tours in winter. The site can be used all year round. Current conditions, possible closures and the weather forecast should be checked before each tour.
