The Basodino hut is a solid stone building with two cozy lounges and dining rooms. A total of 59 beds are available in shared rooms and dormitories with comforters; a hut sleeping bag is obligatory and can be purchased on site. The sanitary facilities are located in the house, there are toilets with running water, hot showers and a drying room for wet clothes. The house is heated with wood and the lighting is provided by solar power. A winter room with around 20 sleeping places is accessible all year round and also offers shelter outside the maintenance period. Travel by train to Locarno and from there take the PostBus through the Maggia Valley to Bignasco and on into Val Bavona to San Carlo. Hikers change at the valley station of the San Carlo-Robiei cable car and take the cable car to Robiei in summer; from there, a short footpath leads over to the Basodino hut.
