Die Alpe Breitengehren ist den ganzen Sommer bewirtschaftet und liegt nahe Oberstdorf im Rappenalptal auf 1151 Meter.
Das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude aus dem 17. Jahrhundert wird von Frühjahr 2017 bis 2019 innen nach und nach stilgerecht renoviert, während der Stall und die Sennküche bereits vor vier Jahren als Nebengebäude neu und sehr modern gebaut wurden.
Die Alpe Breitengehren ist sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit dem Fahrrad oder Kinderwagen von Birgsau, Einödsbach oder der Fellhornbahn Talstation sehr gut erreichbar. Auf asphaltierter, für den Verkehr gesperrter, Straße geht es idyllisch dem Rappenalpbach entlang ins Tal.
Alternativ gibt es einen Wanderweg über Einödsbach bis zur Breitengehrenalpe auf der gegenüberliegenden Bachseite.
