Die Alp Chammli zuhinterst im Schächental

Während rund sieben Sommerwochen wird die höchste Urner Kuhalp von der Familie Stadler bewirtschaftet. Chammli liegt im Schächental am Fusse des Schärhorns und ist vom Klausenpass aus in ca. 40 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Zu den Alpbewohnern gehören Kühe, Ziegen und ab und zu auch Esel. Sie dürfen die meiste Zeit im Freien verbringen und müssen nur zum Melken in den Stall (die Esel werden nicht gemolken;-)). Aus der Milch werden rund zwei Tonnen Käse hergestellt. Dieser wird im Alpbeizli verkauft.

Das Alpbeizli auf der Alp Chammli ist ein Ausflug wert. Eine wunderschöne Aussicht hinaus aus dem Schächental bis zum Urirotstock lenkt von spannenden Diskussionen ab. Hier treffen sich Urner und Glarner mit den unterschiedlichen Dialekten und finden immer wieder Gesprächsstoff.

Die Gastfreudnschaft der Familie Stadler ist weit herum bekannt. Die Spazialitäten neben dem Alpkäse sind die Hauswürstli, die Meringues mit Rahm und das Chammlikaffee.
