Das Alpmuseum auf der Oberalp in Unterschächen

Auf der linken Seite des Schächentals, in einer nach Westen ansteigenden Mulde, befindet sich die Oberalp. Sie erstreckt sich zwischen 1800 und 2200 m ü. M. unterhalb der Bergkette mit dem Wespen und dem Vorder Griessbach. Im Westen grenzt die Nideralp an die Oberalp. Vier Älplerfamilien bewirtschaften die Alp. Sie führen ihr Vieh vom Unterstafel Urnerboden über einen schmalen Pfad vorbei an den Alpen Unter Balm, Bim Stei und Blewi auf die Oberalp.

In der Landfrauenstube haben Wanderer die Möglichkeit, etwas zu trinken, sich zu verpflegen oder auch urchigen Alpkäse zu kaufen. Im Gespräch mit der Älplerfamilie Kempf erfährt man alles zu Geschichte, Geografie und Tradition rund um die Oberalp.

Auf der Oberalp wird köstlicher Urner Alpkäse hergestellt, welcher zum Teil an die Genossenschaft abgegeben und zum Teil direkt verkauft wird.

Neben dem Alpbeizli befindet sich das Alpmuseum.

Opening times

Es lohnt sich, die Hütte zu besuchen, wenn die Alp bestossen ist. In der Regel ist das von Mitte Juli bis Ende August der Fall.

Mit dem Postauto erreichen wir von Altdorf aus die Haltestelle Ribi hinter Unterschächen. Von hier geht man zu Fuss bis Aesch. Die Seilbahn Aesch-Oberalp bringt uns in wenigen Minuten auf das Hochplateau.

Mit dem Auto fahren wir von Altdorf her Richtung Klausen. Wir durchqueren Bürglen und Spiringen. Sobald die Strasse nach Unterschächen zu steigen beginnt, biegen wir im Weiler Ribi rechts ab. Falls wir nach Aesch fahren möchten, können wir unmittelbar nach Überquerung der ersten Brücke eine Bewilligung lösen. Auf einer holprigen Feldstrasse erreichen wir so Aesch und die Talstation der Seilbahn Aesch-Oberalp.

Parking

Parkplätze finden wir in Aesch gleich neben der Seilbahn Aesch-Oberalp oder im Weiler Ribi hinter Unterschächen. Von der Ribi können wir gemütlich auch bis nach Aesch laufen.
