Die Alp Hinterfeld liegt im hinteren Teil des Meientals. Der Weidegrund im Talboden hat eine Länge von über fünf Kilometern. Ungefähr in der Mitte befinden sich die Alphütten, auf 1659 m ü. M. Vom Dorf Meien führt ein alter Säumerweg über den Weiler Färnigen zur Alp. Hinterfeld ist eine Alpgenossenschaft.
