An excellently run hut with excellent catering. Highly recommended.

The Almagellerhütte is an SAC mountain hut in Valais. It is located in the Wysstal valley below the Dri Horlini. The valley town is Saas-Almagell.

Built in 1984, the Almagellerhütte is the SAC's newest hut and is not a replacement for an older hut (cf. the Monte Rosa hut opened in 2009).

The Almagellerhütte is the base for the popular glacier-free approach to the Weissmies via the Zwischbergenpass (3268 m) and the Weissmies south ridge. The Saas Almagell-Gondo hike over the Zwischbergen Pass is possible as a two-day tour.

We no longer have a winter shelter. The shelter is open. Please only use it in an emergency. The room offers overnight accommodation but no cooking facilities.
