The Aiguillette à la Singla bivouac is located at 3179 m above the Otemma glacier in the Valais Alps. The unattended SAC bivouac offers 12 sleeping places as a base on the Haute Route.
The Aiguillette à la Singla bivouac, officially Bivouac de l'Aiguillette à la Singla CAS, stands on a rocky outcrop above the Otemma glacier near the Italian border in the Valais Alps. At around 3179 m, the small stone house of the SAC Chasseron section offers twelve simple campsites and serves as a remote base in the middle of an impressive glacier world. The bivouac is unattended and designed as a shelter that is open all year round, but is mainly used for challenging high-altitude tours and ski crossings such as the Valais Haute Route. The shelter is self-catering; gas, crockery and blankets are provided inside, but there is no light or mobile phone reception. The usual approaches are from the Cabane de Chanrion in around four to five hours with around 900 meters of ascent or from the Cabane des Vignettes in a good two to two and a half hours over glacier and moraine terrain. From here you can reach peaks such as La Singla, Pigne d'Arolla or Grand Blanchen. The current conditions, any closures and the weather forecast should be checked carefully before each tour.

Rooms
Inside the bivouac there is a dormitory with a total of twelve sleeping places, each equipped with two blankets and pillows per person. A sleeping bag or light sleeping bag is also recommended. The room is simple, without electricity or artificial lighting; candles and a gas stove are the most important infrastructure. The inventory includes simple cooking utensils such as pots, crockery and cutlery. The bivouac is unattended and remains open as a shelter all year round, but it is still advisable to contact the hut manager Julien Blaser to check the condition of the hut and gas supplies. There is no mobile phone reception on site.Sleeping beds
