Adula hut

Rooms

The Capanna Adula CAS at 2012 m offers 24 sleeping places, divided into six rooms with 2, 2, 4, 4, 5 and 7 beds; all beds are equipped with comforters, a hut sleeping bag is obligatory and can be purchased in the hut. Two dining rooms with a total of 56 seats form the center of the hut's activities. Inside there are toilets, running water and a shower; heating and cooking is provided by wood and gas stoves. Power is supplied by solar panels, turbine and generator, 220-volt sockets are available and mobile phone coverage is described as good. In winter, nine beds are available in the winter room; there is a simple kitchen with a wood and gas stove, cooking utensils and drinks, but no regular lighting, only simple outdoor toilets and water depending on the snow conditions. The hut is accessible all year round, manned in the summer season, and reservations are obligatory; the most important contacts are the hut telephone +41 91 872 15 32 and the e-mail address adula@casticino.ch.

Food and drink

At the Capanna Adula CAS, the hut team prepares hot and cold dishes throughout the day. The menu includes homemade gnocchi, polenta with brasato, pizzoccheri, risotto and game dishes if ordered in advance, accompanied by drinks, some of which are also available during off-peak hours.

Directions

Access to the Capanna Adula CAS is from the Lago di Luzzone dam in around 2 hours 50 minutes and around 500 meters of altitude, from Torre in Val Soi in around 3 hours 30 minutes and 1200 meters of altitude, from Ghirone in around 4 hours and 900 meters of altitude, from Olivone in around 5 hours and 1300 meters of altitude and from Diga Compiett at Passo Muazz with parking lot in around 2 hours and 400 meters of altitude.

Parking

The parking lot at Diga Compiett at Passo Muazz is used for the shorter ascent; parking spaces are limited there.
