Hostel in Spittal

The Neue Bonner-Hütte belongs to the German Alpine club, section Bonn. The hut is located close to Rennweg am Katschberg on 1,712m above sea level. The area around the hut is called Nockberge, a foothill of the National park Hohe Tauern. You will find a natural paradies for hiking and in winter for ski touring literally made for families, beginners and people that aim to enjoy their stay. The hut offers overnight accommodation for 29 persons split in 11 rooms with different sizes. Every room has fluent warm and cold water from the tub and central heating. The sanitation area for all overnight guests is located on the first floor and includes two separating shower cabins. Next to the two comfortable dining areas the hut offers a huge sun terrace with partly shelted seats. In winter the tile stove creates a cozy atmosphere. Furthermore, we offer a big playground including climbing field for children.

Our hostel welcomes you to Hohe Tauern National Park. It offers 94 beds and is situated at the feet of the 3797 m high Mount Großglockner, right next to the village´s famous church at a height of 1300 m. We offer spacious, comfortable rooms, most of them with shower and toilet. Two large common rooms with sunbathing balcony, family corners and satellite TV are awaiting our guests. Right next to our house you can find an indoor swimming pool with sauna, whirlpool and solarium and an alpine garden with a rock-climbing wall. Mountain climbing, hiking, experiencing nature in an enchanting alpine mountain region, observing animals, trekking tours and daily or weekly programs are just some of the appealing activities from spring to autumn. During the winter months December through April Heiligenblut is a skiing region with lots of snow, well maintained slopes, cross country skiing courses, cleared hiking trails, an ice skating rink and lots more. The skiing lifts are just 5 minutes’ walk from the hostel. For our youngest guests there is a lift right next to the hostel. In addition to a rich breakfast buffet we can offer on order three course lunches and dinners. "Revival of the summer resort" With the Badehaus Millstätter See, a lake wellness facility in the style of the historic bathhouses was created in the middle of the Nockberge mountains on the shores of Lake Millstätter See. Then as now, we are a place of encounter and pleasurable relaxation, which allows you to experience the lake and its magic all year round. On more than 1000 square meters we offer enough space to relax and revive an ancient tradition. With 4 differently tempered and themed saunas, a brine steam bath, a tepidarium, 3 infrared cabins, 4 relaxation rooms and the infinity outdoor pool with water up to 35 degrees, the bathhouse invites you to peelings, massages or cosmetic treatments. In the in-house restaurant with products from the region, Carinthian delicacies and light digestible Alps Adriatic cuisine are offered.

We pamper you with coffee, cake & tarts, ice cream produced in-house. Our guest garden has been voted the most beautiful guest garden in Carinthia multiple times. We offer you a daily selection of 40 different cakes & tarts, which are freshly made in our pastry shop every day.In the warmer months, we produce a large variety of ice creams for you, whether fruit or milk ice cream, it will definitely refresh you.
