Scenic hiking route in the Rottenmanner Tauern

The Rottenmanner Tauern are a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers. They form a mountain group of the central Eastern Alps. Together with the Radstadt Tauern, the Schladming Tauern, and the Seckau Tauern, the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern form the major group of the Low Tauern. A medium, beautiful, panoramic, and sometimes foggy hike awaits you in the Rottenmanner Tauern. I found the route fantastic. Chapeau!

Scenic and solitary hike along the ridge of the Lahngangkogel with a steep descent to the Wagenbänkalm. Continuing hike to the Mödlinger Hut via a dreamy forest road and ascent from the Flitzenschlucht to the Treffner Alm.

The Eisenwurzen Trail leads from the Eisenwurzen Nature Park in the north of Steiermark to the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park . The crossing of the Niedere Tauern is certainly an absolute highlight for every mountaineer.

From Trieben - Schwarzenbach, follow marked roads and paths mostly through the forest, steadily ascending to the Edelrautehütte, which is beautifully located on the shore of the Scheibelsee in the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern.

A two-day mountain hike through the Rottenmanner Tauern: The route starts in Rottenmann and leads via the Stein am Mandl to the Rottenmanner Hütte. On the second day, the route takes you back down into the valley via Seegupf, Diewaldgupf, Moserspitz, and the Hochhaide.

From the Czech border crossing Wullowitz (Freistadt) across beautiful Austria to the Slovenian border crossing Seebergsattel (Eisenkappel). On foot by the shortest route mainly on country paths and trails with as few road kilometers as possible.
