Hiking in Pocking

This path is also called the "Böhmerwald-Southeast Bavarian JW" and leads from Schlägl Abbey briefly through Austria to Bavaria to Hohenpeißenberg, from Berbling together with a connection to Salzburg.

This tour leads from Karpfham via Großhaarbach to just before Tettenweis. From here it continues to Poigham, over the Rott and along it for a stretch. At Gerau you cross the river again and return to Karpfham via Reith and Strenberg.

South Bavarian St. James Way: From Passau to Lindau on Lake Constance. Approximately 530km. Second section: From Neuhaus am Inn to Karpfham Bhf. One or two small climbs.  Three crossings over the Rott river.  Mostly marked on the route. Unfortunately, I couldn't enter the Siebenschläfer church in Rotthof (closed in winter), although there are Roman-era relics inside.

Route: Poigham - Eggersham - Kühnham - Döblham - Steindorf - Schöffau - Weihmörting - Holzhäuser - Asbach - Hellham - Langwinkl - Volkertsham - Bayerbach on the Rott 

Route course:  Neuhaus am Inn - Weihmörting - Mittich - Ruhstorfer See - Ruhstorf an der Rott - Rotthof - Linden - Freiung - Mitterham - Oberschwärzenbach - Tettenweis - Lohbuckel - Kleinhaarbach - Poigham

Dieser Weg wird auch «Böhmerwald-Südostbayrische Jakobsweg» genannt und führt vom Stift Schlägl ein  Stück weit durch Österreich, um dann vor Passau den Freistaat Bayern zu erreichen und bei Hohenpeißenberg in den Münchner Jakobsweg einzubiegen, ab Berbling gemeinsam mit dem von Salzburg her kommenden Voralpinen Jakobsweg.
