Once you have set out to walk the famous Jakobsweg, it is hard to let go again - discover the Jakobsweg in the Chiemsee-Alpenland!

Landscape of hills and lakes created by glacier ice The maximum glacial advance of the last ice age is aptly called the "Seeoner Stadium" in the Chiemsee region: This advance left behind a particularly fascinating landscape with moraines, ice edge terraces, and dead ice lakes in the Seeoner lake plateau about 18,000 years ago.

We start the nineteenth stage in Eggstätt at the Hartseestüberl and initially circle the Hartsee. From its northern end, the route continues northwest, passing Eschenauer See towards Kloster Seeon. There, a loop through the Seeoner Seen nature reserve follows before we end the stage directly at Kloster Seeon.

This route is also called the "Böhmerwald-Southeast Bavarian JW" and leads from the Stift Schlägl briefly through Austria to Bavaria to Hohenpeißenberg, from Berbling together with a connection to Salzburg.

Day route 27 from Kloster Seeon connects parts of the route of stage 19 of our "100 Stages from Rosenheim to Salzburg". Along the way, we pass Kloster Seeon, the Seeoner Seen nature reserve, Seeleitensee, Brunnensee, Griessee, the beach at Griessee, Klostersee, the Mozart oak of Seeon, the monastery church St. Lambert, the abbot's chapel St. Nikolaus, the Walburgis chapel, and sculptures around Kloster Seeon.
