Hiking in Neu-Eichenberg

The 1st stage leads from Eichenberg station to the three-country corner HE-TH-NS and then soon down to the Werra through pure nature, which repeatedly accompanies hikers in the first 200 kilometers of the long-distance trail.

A varied, not particularly demanding five-hour hike, during which you cross the former East German border twice.

Let yourself be captivated by the fascinating castle ruins and the natural spectacle of the former inner-German border!

A beautiful three-day trekking route through the varied landscape along the Werra and in the Meißner - Kaufunger Forest. Per day, you always walk around 16-17 km if you end in Witzenhausen and go to the train station there. If you complete the full loop to Eichenberg, another 8 km are added on the last day.

A beautiful and very varied hike near Göttingen. The stage is perfect as a day tour, as the start and finish are excellently connected to Göttingen by public transport.

A wonderful trail hike from station to station. The trains run approximately hourly on weekends. Along the way is the Devil's Pulpit with a welcoming mountain hut. Of course, you can also hike the route in reverse. In the attractive half-timbered town of Bad Sooden - Allendorf, you can browse around a bit or stop by for a meal if you have a longer wait for the train. A short detour leads to Hanstein Castle.
