Hiking in Llers

Crossing the eastern Pyrenees in 2 days, ending on the Catalan Way of St. James. Diverse landscapes from Mediterranean to high mountains and an overnight stay in a 'winter room' - The original plan was to walk the Catalan Way of St. James from Perpignan to Figueres, but since the Col de Perthus (290 m) is not so exciting, our route goes over the 1239 m high Col del Pou de la Neu. From there, a short detour to Roc de France is possible (but not if, like us, you are surprised by a winter onset in late March 2025...) - Reise to Céret by bus from Perpignan (lio-occitanie.fr), return or onward travel by train from Figueres (or by TGV, own station). Shortening to two days possible with bus from Darnius to Figueres (mou-te.gencat.cat) - Overnight stays possible in Céret (starting point), Rifugi de las Salinas (unmanaged hut/winter room just below the pass), in Darnius and Figueres.

The GR11 is the most impressive mountain route in Catalan territory. It crosses the Pyrenees on the southern slope, connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Cantabrian Sea, thus passing through Catalonia and Andorra, Aragon, Navarra, and the Basque Country. In this case, we are dealing with the Catalan and Andorran sections.
