On the southern shore of Lake Biel, it is excellent for hiking. The path often runs directly along the natural shore and offers blooming bushes in spring, a quiet nature in autumn, and beautiful bathing spots in summer. The pile dwellers once lived here by the lake.

Unique hike on the southern shore of Lake Biel. The steep view down to the lake, known for its loveliness, from the height of the Hofmannsfluh is unusually rugged. On a excellently laid out lakeside path, you finally reach the charming small town of Erlach. Hard surfaces only in the area of the settlements.

Scenic tour around Lake Biel. If desired, there are many opportunities for a break, whether at a fire pit, a winery, or one of the countless restaurants. The tour can be completed in about 10 hours with a few short breaks. Those who want to take it a bit more leisurely should plan for about 11 hours. Depending on the season, it is recommended to start the tour on the Jura side, as walking is somewhat easier in the flat terrain when it gets dark. In high temperatures, I would start the tour on the south side so that from noon to early afternoon you can walk under the shade-giving trees. The tour on the Jura side is only partly suitable for bikes. The entry point would need to be chosen differently as it begins with quite a few stairs. Further along the path, the sections are technically demanding, and it is advisable to choose a route a little below the path at vineyard level. The south side is continuously passable by bike, with only a few pushing sections.

Opposite the canoe club, the path ascends a steep staircase up the slope. The Höhenweg / Rebenweg beautifully follows the slope past Tüscherz, Twann to La Neuveville.
