Hiking in Godeanu

Via Transilvanica is the only long distance trail that crosses Romania from NE to SW. It unites different geographical units, historical regions and cultures.

Via Transilvanica has its last 135 km on the last part of Caraș-Severin County (starting from Crușovăț) and the rest on the territory of Mehedinți County, a part we call Terra Romana, an area with a unique climatic specificity in Romania, which allowed the development of a breathtaking natural landscape. Stories about the Dacians and the Romans, hidden treasures that are still lost somewhere in the depth of the ground or deep inside the caves, roads that were once walked by the kings of Romania and even more recent stories and legends about people living in this area nowadays, all these are waiting to be discovered by those who are willing to open their hearts and minds to all these beauties.
