Hiking in Eich

This pleasant hike leads from Beromünster first through the forest cathedral in the Schlössliwald. Then you reach the town of Sempach on Lake Sempach via the Battle Chapel.

Historic tour through the Lucerne hinterland "Today we sing a holy song, it is dedicated to the hero Winkelried" – as it says in the Sempach song, which commemorates the Battle of Sempach from the year 1386. The Nidwalden native Arnold von Winkelried is said to have courageously and selflessly thrown himself into the lances of the Habsburg enemies here, thereby enabling the Swiss confederate army to achieve victory. This is also inscribed on the monument next to the battle chapel: "Here Winkelried made a passage for his own." History was also made in Beromünster. More precisely: radio history. Because the first radio program in Switzerland was broadcast via the Beromünster national transmitter on June 11, 1931. Although this medium wave transmitter has not been in operation since 2008, the 217-meter-high transmission mast on Bloseberg still stands (under monument protection since 2009). The seven listening stations of the Beromünster radio trail offer an extremely successful and entertaining introduction to Swiss radio history.

The Michelsamt is a geographical region in the northern part of the canton of Lucerne, not far from Lake Sempach. It includes the municipalities of Pfeffikon, Rickenbach, Beromünster and others, and together with the Sursee region, closer to the shores of Lake Sempach, is a popular hiking destination for easy, affordable walks surrounded by lush nature and the enchanting view of the Alps in the background.

The second stage leads from Sursee along Lake Sempach to the Reuss. We then follow it to Reussbühl. A beautiful tour with great views.
