Hiking in Chieming

The circular route follows paths near the shore over about 54 km around the Chiemsee. Beautiful views of the lake and the Alpine panorama make it one of Bavaria's most popular walking paths. Some sections are only allowed for pedestrians. The Chiemsee circular route is signposted in both directions. It is also suitable as an easy multi-day hike with few elevation changes.

Between the Inn and Salzach rivers, we follow in the footsteps of Pope Benedict XVI. In addition to biographical stations of his childhood and youth, there are many exciting things to discover throughout the region.

Fitness route with Kneipp facility...

The forty-first stage takes us from Grabenstätt into the Grabenstätter Moos and to the Achen delta. From there, we walk always along the shore of Lake Chiemsee. We pass the Chieming beach and continue north until we reach the stately Gut Ising, our stage destination.

Easy walk through Chieming with cultural highlights and scenic surroundings...

We start the forty-second stage in Ising, take a look at the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, and then walk eastwards over fields and small villages past a Celtic fort until we cross the B304 near Aiging and reach the Traun. Along the Traun, we then head south into the town center of Traunstein, our stage destination.
