For fit hikers, a dream path in the Neuchâtel Jura. The rock basin offers walls of 160m height, and the Areuse bridge is one of the most popular photo motifs in Switzerland. Long ascent and partly steep descent make the route challenging.

Creux du Van is located in the Swiss Jura and is a spectacular cliff in the shape of a huge amphitheater. Breathtaking 160 m high, vertical walls enclose the approximately four-kilometer-long, 500 meter deep, and about 1.2 km wide natural basin. The limestone landscape rises from Lake Neuchâtel and the Travers Valley, which is famous for Absinthe.

    Wir fuhren mit dem Zug nach Noiraigue und wanderten diese Route auf den Creux du Van. Der Zickzackweg hinauf hat mir gut gefallen und war weniger anstrengend als ich vermutete. Der Creux du Van ist sehr eindrücklich, wir machten viele Fotos. Steinböcke konnten wir keine sehen, jedoch eine Steingeiss. Wegen den Waldbränden in Kanada war es leider dunstig und so sahen wir keine Berge. Der Rückweg kam mir länger vor, vielleicht weil mein Fuss schmerzte. Wir kommen wieder! Unser Navi zeigte genau 4 Stunden (Laufzeit), 15.6km und 750hm an.

    Wir haben die Tour bei wunderschönem Wetter gemacht. Die Gegensätze sind unglaublich. Zuerst die Enge und die friedliche Gorges de l'areuse und anschliessend die atemberaubende Weite auf dem Creux du Van. Die Tour ist unbedingt empfehlenswert.

    Die alte Steinbrücke beim "Saut de Brot" und der untere Teil der Schlucht haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Der längere obere/mittlere Teil fand ich langweilig. Das bekannte Restaurant La Truite kann ich nicht empfehlen, die Bedienung war schrecklich. Die Rückfahrt mit ÖV von Boudry via Neuchâtel nach Noiraigue war nicht mein Ding, mache ansonsten nur Rundtouren.

    Wunderschöne Wanderung. Anfangs und am Ende längere Strecken auf Hartbelag. Sonst wunderschöne Wege, Treppen, Brücken. Eindrücklich, wie sich das Wasser mal sanft, mal tosend, den Weg durch die Schlucht gebahnt hat.

    Diese Tour sind wir am Sonntag 27. Oktober gewandert. Es war eine tolle Tour über die Areusebrücke / Schlucht und vorallem beim Anstieg auf den Creux du Van waren wir bis fast wo wir oben waren immer alleine unterwegs (abseits vom Tourismus). Deshalb verdient die Tour volle Bewertung.
