The HexaTrek is a trail of 3,034 km and 136,000 m of elevation gain connecting 14 of the most beautiful French natural parks and crossing France from the Vosges to the Pyrenees.

The GR®10 is a marked long-distance hiking trail that crosses the Pyrenees from West to East, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.With a total length of about 900 km, it is a magnificent classic for hikers.

The legendary long-distance hiking trail GR10, which connects the Atlantic with the Mediterranean along the Pyrenean ridge, makes the hearts of passionate long-distance hikers beat faster. You traverse one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world.

Hikers should expect significant elevation gain, but their efforts will be rewarded with incredible landscapes.

Passing nine lakes back into the high mountainsThis varied stage leads through typical high mountain terrain into the Réserve Naturelle de Néouvielle. Rocky and stony sections alternate with green, fertile alpine meadows. In between, there are repeated flashes of turquoise blue, as with nine lakes this stage is the undisputed leader on our Pyrenees crossing. Thanks to the short distance, there is plenty of time for picturesque photos or a refreshing swim in the cool mountain lake.

Just like the road cyclists heading into the Tourmalet Valley—but first, we turn right toward the new RefugeLe Bastan is our constant companion on the first part of the stage. Time and again, the trail switches from one side of the valley to the other, each time offering us a beautiful view of the opposite side. In the bustling spa town of Barèges, we refuel and restock our supplies before heading back into the more secluded mountain terrain for the next few days. Near the ski resort at Tournaboup, we leave Le Bastan behind and ascend through a picturesque high valley to the extraordinary Refuge d’Aygues-Cluses. After more than a decade of planning and construction, the new hut opened in the spring of 2023. The innovative architecture is both energy-efficient and sustainable, while also blending harmoniously into the landscape.
