Trail through the forests and meadows of the Ultzama and Odieta valleys, starting and ending at the Orgi Oak Forest Natural Area, in Lizaso. Besides this locality, you will pass through the villages of Gorrontz-Olano and Gelbentzu, which have a great heritage of manor houses. The route can be completed with a visit along the interpretive trail located at the end, in the Orgi Natural Area.
The Leurtza reservoirs are located in the municipalities of Urrotz and Beintza-Labaien, with access via a 5 km paved rural road from Urrotz. Declared a Natural Recreational Area and located within the SIC (Site of Community Interest – Natura 2000 Network) of Belate, they have great ecological value: it is the habitat of the Pyrenean frog, a protected species, and the trail runs through a large communal beech forest. Additionally, the area was the scene of Carlist wars and highwaymen around the cobbled road of Eltzaburu. Swimming in the reservoir is allowed but not supervised.
