The Brückenweg near St. Gallen is a popular hiking route along and over the Sitter. It offers impressive views of 18 bridges made of stone, concrete, wood, and steel. The starting point of the route can be reached by bus from St. Gallen Haggen station (SOB): Schlössli bus stop. After a 2 1/2 hour walk, you reach the endpoint of the route at Spisegg. From there, a postal bus runs back to St. Gallen station (SBB) every half hour. Optionally, the hiking route can be shortened: at the confluence of the Sitter and Urnäsch back to St. Gallen Bruggen station (SBB).
