We jump from one (side) valley to another. The rushing water in the stream cheers us up. Meanwhile, we climb the ridges and enjoy the views. The landscape changes from the rough features of the high Black Forest to rather gentle cultural landscapes with small hamlets and farms. Day 4 Gundelfinger Berg and Tal-Steig

Forecast for Schuttertal

10-day forecast
One of the most beautiful tours leads along the Schuttertal valley from Mahlberg to Gengenbach. This route stretches for about 14 kilometres and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The path leads through picturesque villages, past historic half-timbered houses and old mills. The view of Staufenberg Castle, majestically enthroned on a hill, is particularly impressive.

For families with children, the nature trail around the Kuhhimmel near Schweighausen is ideal. On this circular trail, little explorers can playfully learn a lot about flora and fauna. There are also numerous picnic areas and playgrounds along the way that invite you to linger.

Another highlight in Schuttertal is the "Wiesensteig" premium hiking trail. This well-signposted circular trail leads through lush meadow landscapes, dense forests and past small streams. Here you can enjoy the untouched nature and come to rest.

The best seasons for hiking in Schuttertal are certainly spring and autumn. In these months, the landscape shines in bright colours: In spring, numerous wildflowers bloom and in autumn, the forests glow in the most beautiful shades of red and gold.

Whether experienced hikers or families with children - Schuttertal offers the right hiking experience for every taste. The well-signposted hiking trails, the idyllic landscape and the diverse sights make this region a popular destination for nature lovers. So lace up your hiking boots and explore the picturesque trails of Schuttertal!

Also, unbedingt machen!

The nicest walk that we have done around here! Very walkable paths and good views with great variety. The first part of the route is not indicated by signage, so checking the route with the GPS in the app is recommended (works like a charm). We came across a number of cyclists and only 1 hiker. Tip: On ~40% of the route there is the "Schlossberg herberge", which is amazingly scenic - can recommend.
