"We are at the end of the world"—this description is quite poetic. We’re talking about the Finistère department. It is France’s westernmost continental department, as well as the most Breton and the one with the longest coastline. Highlights along this coastline include the legendary headlands of Pointe du Raz and Pointe du Van, as well as a series of rugged cliffs and rocky outcroppings up to 70 meters high that defy the rough Atlantic. Beyond the vast coastal landscapes, the hinterland reveals a welcoming character. On this spectacular tour, the elements are our companions.> From the starting and ending point at the parking lot, we head left of the restaurant toward the sea and the Baie des Trépassé 01 (11 m). Just before reaching the shore, we turn left onto a path leading toward a bunker, where we climb stairs to reach the cliffs. At the first fork in the trail, we continue above the beach. At the next spot, where there is a fence, a narrow path branches off to the left through ferns. Behind a stone wall, we ignore the right-hand fork and continue toward the hill. We also ignore a right-hand fork. At a junction of several paths, we turn left past a light blue gate, then after 10 m turn right onto the path through the ferns, heading toward the houses behind it. On the road that follows, we walk 100 m to the left, then turn right onto the road. At the end of the street, we keep slightly to the right and continue on a narrow path along a yellow house wall. 50 m before the Chapelle Saint-Michel02 (55 m), we turn left onto a paved path. We stay on the main path until, 40 m before a stone house, we turn left onto the road. At the end of the street, we walk to the right along the high wall. Behind the stone cross, we turn left, and where the street ends, we turn right. At the end of this road, we do not turn left toward Kerhuan, but instead turn right up to a hill near a rock. Here, we turn slightly left onto the path. This leads to a wider path, where we immediately turn sharply right, and after 20 m, we take the first of the two left-hand turnoffs down toward the sea. Once we reach the customs officers’ path, the cliff hike can begin along the clearly defined trail heading northwest. We cross a stream, and after a short stretch of ascending and descending, we see below us the small harbor of Port de Bestrée03 (26 m), sheltered by a massive breakwater. At the Pointe du Raz headland04 (63 m), the panoramic view is unparalleled. Due to the strong tidal currents and often high waves, you can look out over the turbulent waters of the Raz de Sein all the way to the Isle of Sein. In between lie the lighthouses Phare de la Vieille—just off the coast—and the Phare de Tévenne—halfway to the right, 5 km away. Behind the Isle of Sein, 7 km away, the famous Ar Men Lighthouse rises on the horizon—the most famous and farthest-from-shore lighthouse in France. It marks the entrance to the Sein Passage. North of the headland, we continue on our way, leaving the lighthouse on the headland to our right, and now walk eastward along the coastal path. A path to the left leads to a beautiful viewpoint; otherwise, we continue straight ahead. We ignore the right-hand turnoffs and walk above the Bay of the Departed05 (63 m), toward the beach. This is a scenically stunning section, as you constantly look out over the rugged cliffs, with the 500-meter-wide sandy beach visible in the background. We rejoin the trail we took on the way there and follow it back to the starting point.

I panorami sono veramente belli ed emozionanti. A settembre trovi pochissime persone sul sentiero. Un po’ di folla al punto panoramico dei fari, dove le persone arrivano praticamente in auto.
