Mit dem Zug angekommen bzw. aus Richtung Parkplatz Bahnhof geht man nach links in Richtung Stadtmitte bis zum Marktplatz. Von dort führt der Weg über die Schloßstraße, am Schloß "Ruhethal" vorbei, über die "Verlobungsbrücke" bis zum ehemaligen Schulgarten der Goetheschule Mügeln. Hier biegen wir vor der Plattenstraße, die nach Berntitz führt, links ab und folgen einem schmalen Weg auf ca. 600 Metern bis Crellenhain. Am Ende Nordstraße biegen wir rechts ab und gehen zwischen Feldern entlang bis zum sogenannten "Helmhaus". Dieses liegt gegenüber dem Forsthaus Seelitz. Am Helmhaus angelangt, biegen wir nach rechts auf die Landstraße in Richtung Limbach ab und erreichen einen Kilometer vor Limbach die "Alte Poststraße". Die "Alte Poststraße" wurde 1725 von August dem Starken gebaut, um von Dresden aus schneller in sein Jagdschloss nach Wermsdorf zu gelangen. Am Ende der Straße geht es rechts, an Ockritz vorbei, bis nach Wetitz. Kurz vor dem Ortseingang Wetitz führt rechts ein Weg, der sogenannte "Leichenweg", bis nach Mügeln. Der Volksmund bezeichnete den Weg so, weil früher die Verstorbenen auf diesem Weg bis zum Friedhof Altmügeln gebracht wurden. Vom "Leichenweg" hat man einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf Mügeln und seine Umgebung. Am Ende des Leichenweges angekommen, geht es in südlicher Richtung über die "Verlobungsbrücke" und die Schloßstraße bis zum Mügelner Marktplatz und von dort wieder Richtung Bahnhof.
