Right at the start, a swim in Lake Crosta, known as the “Blue Adriatic,” beckons. And idyllic pond landscapes, hidden away in the woods, also dominate the next few kilometers of the hike. Then, quiet forest and field paths lead us to the impressive Neschwitz Castle complex. ▶ At Parking Lot 01 near the bus stop, you’ll find not only the ice cream parlor but also the entrance to the swimming lake (a former kaolin open-pit mine) with the Mediterranean-sounding name “Blaue Adria.” However, we follow the road “Zur Adria” slightly downhill and, at house no. 47, turn left onto the small street “Zur Alten Schlosserei.” In a bungalow community, the trail keeps to the right as indicated by the sign (blue line toward “Luppedubrau”). The blue line, which now accompanies us all the way to Neschwitz, leads us straight through the forest and past the Wukranteich 02 to a country road. We cross it straight ahead and continue our hike directly across the street. Soon, a pristine forest and pond landscape awaits us. Due to the many forks in the trail, be sure to keep an eye on the blue markings. The route passes Haubinteich, the Luttowitzer Großteich 03, and the Passockteich. Shortly after the latter, you’ll reach a country road, which you’ll cross slightly to the left. The wide path takes us to the Bocka Forest House, where the trail turns left into the forest (blue line). The well-marked route passes a war memorial and reaches another country road, which takes us right into Luppedubrau 04. We stay on the main road through the tiny village at first, but then—100 m before the “Out of Town” sign—we continue straight ahead on a dirt road as the road curves to the right (blue line). We walk briefly along the edge of the forest, enjoying the view, before entering the woods (marker!). Even in the forest, pay attention to the markings—the hike follows a prominent forest road only for a short while! At the village club, we reach the settlement of Holschdubrau 05, where we head toward the main road. The trail descends to the left along this road. 100 m past the “Out of Town” sign, the route meets a road with the right of way. Cross this road, shifting 10 meters to the right. We continue on the forest path there (blue line) and finally cross the B96 straight ahead at the outskirts of Neudorf. On the opposite side, we follow Holschdubrauer Straße and immediately turn right onto Alte Poststraße. Almost immediately, the hike veers left again onto the small street Zum Schlosspark. The blue line guides us through it and past the impressively beautiful Baroque Neschwitz Castle 06. The grounds also feature a small exhibition by the Saxon Bird Protection Association, the Neschwitz municipal information center, and the inviting castle café. Just a few steps away are the church and the small town center with the stately inn 07.
