Molveno is a municipality in Trento in northern Italy. It lies at an altitude of 864 metres. The climatic health resort and winter sports centre of the same name is best known for Lake Molveno and its proximity to the Croz dell'Altissimo peak with the Rifugio Croz. The village also borders the Paganella mountain massif to the east, providing ideal conditions for long hikes, which are rounded off with a dip in the cool water.

Start directly in Molveno and hike to Malga di Andalo, from where you have an impressive view of the Croz dell’Altissimo, the Pradel plateau and the Valle delle Senghe.
You also have the possibility to hike far into the Brenta Dolomites without having to climb the steep mountain peaks on secured passages and climbs. The cable car takes you from Molveno to the Pradel station. Here you can already enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Molveno. You can continue with the chairlift or start your hike directly.

For many years in a row, the environmental protection organisation Legambiente has named it the „most beautiful lake in Italy“. The blue water invites hikers not only to cool off after a strenuous tour, but also to go stand-up paddling, canoeing or sailing.
An almost 10-kilometre route takes you once around the lake. There are a few steeper climbs on the circular trail, but it is still easy to walk with children. A relaxing day in Molveno offers a break from the many outdoor activities on offer, ranging from hiking and mountain biking to paragliding and all kinds of water sports. A visit to the cemetery church of San Vigilio is a must. The building dates back to the 14th century and is very well preserved.
The Parrocchia di San Carlo Borromeo also boasts an impressive interplay of modern and historical architecture. The main building itself was erected in the mid-20th century, while the adjacent clock tower dates from the 16th century. Also worth seeing is the old Taialacqua sawmill, which is powered by the water of the Rio Molini and served as a model for other sawmills throughout Trentino.
