Route in the city of Mantua. Starting from the Station you visit Palazzo Ducale, the Clock Museum, the Tazio Nuvolari Museum, Palazzo Te and return to the Station.

From the Campo Canoa parking lot in the Sparafucile area we head north, skirting the Lago di Mezzo, one of the three lakes surrounding Mantua. Immersed in nature, we pass for a stretch the industrial zone (Cartiera Burgo) and soon arrive at the Cittadella. We see the park's flora, dormant in the winter period, herons, ducks, and cormorants fluttering over the picturesque lakeside landscape, water lilies asleep waiting only to awaken with the summer warmth. And then the monuments of Mantua, a city with a millennia-old history (the origin is uncertain,  certainly pre-Roman). Here were born Virgil, Isabella d'Este, Matilde di Canossa, Andrea Mantegna, Giulio Romano. Then, closer to us, Roberto Boninsegna and Patrizio Roversi. Here was the Belfiore massacre (1855, patriots killed by the Austro-Hungarian government) and the killing of Andreas Hofer (a South Tyrolean patriot who led a peasant revolt in South Tyrol (the Alto Adige of that time) in 1809, killed in 1810). After a short tour of the Cittadella we resume along the lakeside and cross the bridge to head to the peninsula hosting the historic city. We pass beside the church of SS. Gervasio and Protasio and skirt the railway until we enter the countryside near the Martyrs of Belfiore park. We cross the working-class neighborhood of Valletta Paiolo and arrive near Palazzo Te, where we have an aperitif at the bar. On the advice of the bartender at Palazzo Te, we book, in about an hour, the restaurant in Piazza Sordello. On the route toward Mantua's main square, we come to appreciate its best architectural facets. We pass in front of the church of S. Sebastian (building from the 1400s) and the House of Mantegna, the Broletto Tower, the Cathedral, the church of S. Andrew, the round church of S. Lorenzo. We cross Mantegna Square and then Erbe Square  arriving at Piazza Sordello and the Osteria Sordello 26 restaurant (excellent and moderately priced) without disdain for some photos. After lunch, strolling through the three main squares of Mantua mentioned, we visit the round church of S. Lorenzo, the Palazzo della Ragione, and climb the Clock Tower, adapted as the Museum of Time. After some souvenir purchases and promising to return, we cross the S.
