Hikes in Lazise

Walk of about 24 km (12+12) along the Veronese shore of Lake Garda.

Departure: Lazise (VR) / Places: Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Punta Vigilio

The hot walk at >35°C at the end of June 2019 started comfortably: With a boat trip from Lazise, where the car was parked, to Bardolino. Followed by the beautiful tour  along the shore of Lake Garda from Bardolino to Cisano (4 km). From there by boat again back to Lazise.

From the Paiari parking lot in Lazise, a bit outside the center near a public park, we head inland towards the locality of Palù dei Mori. From here we continue towards Colà but bypass the Thermal Park, which can still be used even in this season thanks to the thermal temperature pools (32/36°), and we head towards the locality of Le Caldane in a wide curve that brings us back north. We now ascend towards the hills surrounding Lazise up to Monte dei Badalucchi and Monte Fasol, two low peaks that should not challenge us too much but which allow us to observe, looking back over our shoulders, the lake that awaits us patiently. We pass in succession: Mombinda, upper Mondragon, lower and upper Carlotte, Palù up to the Veronello Sports Center. We climb further north up to the village of Calmasino, where we turn west, returning towards the lake. After Pozza Amara, Prada and Calaoni we cross the Gardesana (SR 249) and descend decisively towards the lake. We pass the Madonna della Pergolana (a 16th-century sanctuary, with the homonymous villa annexed), travel a bit along the lakeside and take a small tour inside the town of Lazise to return to the parking lot and retrieve the cars.
