Hikes in Guînes

GR128-1- Wissant ---> Guines 1st stage of the Flanders trail GR128 August 2, 2020 at 07:31 28km

The Great Route Path  GR 128 runs from Wissant to Aachen. The route in France is highly recommended due to the tranquility, natural beauty, and authentic villages that sometimes resemble old Flemish ones. I have adjusted the route in France slightly to keep the stages approximately between 12 and 15 kilometers and also to consider available parking spots. We stay for a midweek each time and look for accommodation somewhere in the middle of the stages we plan to undertake. We park the car at the end point of the walk. Then we bike to the starting point. We pick up the bikes by car and then drive back to our accommodation, or make a visit somewhere along the way by car. The route in French Flanders is approximately 150 kilometers. We completed it in 3 midweek stays. GR128-2- Guînes --->Tournehem 2nd stage of the Flanders path GR128August 3, 2020 at 07:33 34km

Deze etappe zoekt de mooiste paadjes op in het woud van Guînes. Bij het binnenkomen van het woud verwelkomen we de collega wandelaars die de GR 145 volgen, een pelgrimsroute die je van Canterbury tot in Rome leidt. Die Franse GR 145 loopt van Calais via Boulogne dwars over Frankrijk om via Lausanne richting Alpen te gaan. Onze Gr 128 en de Francigena wandelen hand in hand tot in Nort Leulinghem waar de pelgrims zuidoost richting Arras gaan. Reken maar dat vandaag het gros van de weg langs bospaden of lang-graspaden loopt, dus NATUUR. Het gebied is zeer landelijk en ligt wat buiten het wegennet zodat je niet zomaar eender waar je auto kan achterlaten. Om de etappe niet te lang te maken kozen we om de auto langs de D 248 te parkeren, een landelijke weg die van Bouquehault zuidwaarts richting Alembon en Hermelinghen loopt. We parkeren in een stukje bos in de omgeving van een vervallen jagershut, net voor de top van een heuvel (185 meter hoogte). Deze plaats werd ook strategisch gekozen, zodat onze fietstocht (15-tal Km) in hoofdzaak bergafwaarts gaat naar onze startplaats in Hames-Boucres. De plaats ligt  zo’n 800 meter buiten GR. Fietstocht naar de startplaats: D 248 naar Bouquehault en verder Campagne-les-Guînes. D 215 Linksaf richting Guînes. Guînes :  D215 naar beneden centrum volgen. Buiten hecentrum, groot rond punt naar rechts, steeds nog de D 215 en na 2 Km. ben je bij de parking in Hames-Boucres.
