Forecast for Eichstatt County

10-day forecast
One of the best-known tours is the "Altmühl-Panoramaweg", an approximately 45-kilometre-long circular trail along the river of the same name. This route leads through magnificent landscapes such as the impressive rock formations at the "Dollsberg" or the romantic village of Kipfenberg. The panorama trail offers breathtaking views of the valley as well as numerous opportunities for picnics or simply to linger.

The "Jurasteig" is particularly family-friendly. This well-signposted trail stretches over approx. 230 kilometres and leads hiking enthusiasts through a varied natural scenery of forests, meadows and small villages. Along the Jura Trail there are also several playgrounds and rest areas for children, so that even the youngest can have fun.

Another highlight are the so-called "rock rounds". These short hikes offer an intensive insight into the fascinating world of the Jura rock landscape around Eichstätt. The "Felsenrunde Dollnstein" is particularly recommended here, where you can discover spectacular viewpoints and impressive rock formations on a 4-kilometre circular route.

The best season for hiking in Eichstätt is undoubtedly spring, when nature awakens to new life and everything glows in lush green. But summer also offers pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine. In autumn, on the other hand, the landscape transforms into a colourful sea of colours that enchants every hiker.

Whether beginner or experienced hiking veteran, Eichstätt offers suitable routes for every taste and every level of ability. The town itself as well as its surroundings are rich in sights such as the baroque cathedral or Willibaldsburg Castle, so you can perfectly combine cultural and nature enjoyment.

So lace up your hiking boots and explore the fascinating trails around Eichstätt - an unforgettable experience for young and old!
