From Dürnstein West via the Vogelbergsteig to the Fesslhütte and further over Hengelwand and Reispersbachtal to Egelsee. Down via the Donauwarte to Stein/Donau.

You simply can't get enough of the magnificent landscape around the ruins of Dürnstein.

A few years ago, the approximately 175 km long World Heritage Trail was successfully established as a walkable connection between the Wachau's natural and cultural attractions. This one-day combination on both sides of the Danube can be understood as a miniature version of it, with cultural highlights in Dürnstein and Weißenkirchen and a touch of alpine thrill at the Hirschwand. In between, there is a pathless forest section, and overall, the special charm of the Wachau natural landscape (keyword: rock & oak) will pleasantly captivate every visitor. This interplay is made possible by using the Danube ferries twice (Dürnstein – Rossatzbach and St. Lorenz – Weißenkirchen). The route planning must therefore also take these means of transport into account: ferry operation Dürnstein – Rossatz from the end of March to early October.

Beautiful hiking route along the Förthofgraben (opposite Mautern) up to the Loibnerberg and back through wonderful terraced landscape through the vineyard fields above the Danube with great views.

Picturesque bell towers, magnificent panoramic views, and a picturesque castle ruin await us on the enjoyable hike along the Welterbesteig Wachau from Aggsbach Markt to Emmersdorf.
