A beautiful and varied circular hiking route with great panoramic views over the Dörentruper landscape. In the distance, the towns of Lemgo, Dörentrup, Barntrup, and many small villages can be seen. The circular hiking route partly follows the "Path of Views," and this route lives up to its name.

The Schwelentruper Höhenweg leads from the eponymous town via idyllic hollow paths up to the Steinberg to the former rocket station, with a height of 396 meters and a very good panoramic view. Another highlight on the hiking route is the Alt-Sternberg rampart. It is located quite close to the hiking trail. The wonderful panoramic views extending to the Teutoburg Forest make this hiking route something special.

From Lemgo to Hameln, the E1 follows the Hansaweg. Through the Lippe hill country, the path leads me quite a bit up and down from North Rhine-Westphalia to Lower Saxony, mostly heading east. Scenically, this stage is very appealing and varied. The path is very pleasant for hiking because the proportion of paved road is very low.

A varied circular route with charming views towards Lemgo, Burg Sternberg, and Dörentruper districts. The path repeatedly follows the "Way of Views" in sections. In the second part of the hike, there are frequent views to the south up to the Teutoburg Forest.

Landscape park, medieval ambiance and distant views over the LipperlandDörentrup, Hillentrup, Schwelentrup – such recurring name components, according to research, go back to an Old Saxon settlement in the earliest Middle Ages and mean something like "village." Here we want to complete a tour through the heart of the Lipper Bergland, which offers impressive facets. The focus is, of course, on the gracefully undulating landscape with its forest stretches and generously curved agricultural areas – best and farthest to be viewed from the Steinberg, which was formerly used militarily and today represents the highest elevation in Nordlippe due to an earth embankment. There are plenty of refined spots to admire at least a section of the panorama, both before and after. Culturally, the count's castle complex of Sternberg and its predecessor Alt Sternberg (about 1.5 kilometers away as the crow flies and still recognizable today as a mighty rampart complex in the forest) are of interest. And right at the beginning of the tour, we pass through the relaxing landscape park in Hillentrup with the so-called Pottkuhle. The stately lake is a relic of the former clay mining.
