The hiking trail runs through the Taucherwald, which was a military restricted area until 1991. Abandoned bunker facilities and the Taucherwald hut bear witness to this time. The path is marked with a green dot.

Circular Hike near Demitz-Thumitz The Klosterberg owes its name to the fact that, from the Middle Ages onward, it belonged for centuries to the Cistercian convent of St. Marienstern in Panschwitz-Kuckau. The mountain hut with a lookout tower, built in 1904, was blown up shortly before the end of World War II; in 1980, a replacement building without a tower was opened, which is unfortunately closed at the moment.

There are numerous hiking trails and routes here that lead to breathtaking viewpoints or run along rivers and lakes.

One of the most beautiful hiking tours in Demitz-Thumitz is the "Thumer Steine Tour". This route leads through the Thumer Quarries nature reserve, where you can admire impressive rock formations. Whether you are travelling alone, with friends or with the family - everyone will find a suitable route here and can experience unforgettable moments in the midst of a fascinating landscape.
