Viewpoint in the Heart of the High VosgesWith just 1200 m in height, the Drumont, sometimes disparagingly called Petit Drumont, is by far not one of the highest Vosges peaks. But in terms of views, it is undoubtedly a great one. In good weather, the grassy summit offers an almost overwhelming view of nearly the entire Vallée de la Thur and its mountain surroundings, dominated by the Grand Ballon on the opposite side of the valley. Equally extensive is the view to the west, which we already know from the Ferme-Auberge. And if we are very lucky, the glaciers of the Bernese Alps shine to the south. The summit break can therefore last longer than planned, especially since we can also watch the paragliders up there.

Long hike where you will need to save strength for the end because it climbs a lot before arriving :-)  Trail not always easy with stones, water, mud... Nice climbs where it is sometimes hard to place the heel (especially at the end). Beautiful viewpoints. I was lucky to see chamois towards the end. WARNING, some trails I had planned to take are closed before April 30th. So detours are necessary in respect of nature and wildlife. I will do this hike again in a few weeks to see what I missed :-).     Excellent balisage! Peu de point d’eau. Possibilité de dormir au refuge au Honneck (mi chemin) pour ceux qui veulent le faire en 2 jours.

    Nous avons fait cette boucle en partant de « la ferme de Jean » au dessus de Saulxure - avec un petit détour dans la forêt au nord du Col de Menufosse - avec cela nous avons mis 5h avec les pauses - une balade très agréable par beau temps en hiver avec des belles vues sur les vallées alentours - attention quelques zones humides sur les chemins 🙂

    Sagenhaft schöne Runde, zusammen mit meiner Frau am gestrigen Sonntag bei bestem Wetter gemacht. Hier ein paar Anmerkungen: Der angegebene Parkplatz ist derzeit per Auto nicht zu erreichen (Sperrung). Wir sind daher vom Camping du Schlossberg aus gestartet. Der Cascade du Bockloch ist auf der angegeben Routenführung nicht enthalten -> vorher die Karte studieren und geplante Wanderung ggf. anpassen! Nach dem Aufstieg von Abri du Tal aus lohnt sich der Abstecher über den links abzweigenden kleinen Trail statt dem Fahrweg über das Abri des Pionniers zu folgen. Der Wegabschnitt ab km 5,3 ist im Winter (bis 30.04.) offiziell gesperrt wegen Wildtierschutz. Es gibt eine Umleitung über die Route Forestrière de Bockloch. Am Gipfel des Ventron geht man besser über den Wolfsfelsen, als über die Refuge du Grand Ventron, wenn man die Einsamkeit in der Natur bevorzugt. Insgesamt kann man für die Wanderung mit rund 4 Stunden rechnen, je nach Schneeverhältnissen.
