The Mastbos (570 ha) is located south of Breda on the edge of the city, past the A16, near the neighborhood Ruitersbos in Breda South. It is the most well-known and busiest forest near Breda. The forest owes its name to the many Scots pines that were formerly called 'mast trees'. Among other things, ship masts were made from them.
