Five-stage trek, which allows you to explore the history and nature of the protected area, touching its main peaks from which you can see the light of the Ligurian Sea.
From Praglia to Lake Manzù is a beautiful trekking route that takes us to discover a hidden gem of the Ligurian Apennines, starting from the large parking area below the Hunters' house.
Lake Badana, along with Lake Bruno and Lake Lungo, are three artificial basins in the Ligurian Apennines.
Lake Badana is the highest of the three lakes (715 meters above sea level), located entirely within Piedmont territory.
In 2006, its basin was emptied due to structural issues with the dam: a renovation project foresees its reopening around the end of 2025.
Loop route 90% on forest road and 10% on path divided into two stretches of 500 meters each, the path stretch behind Benedicta is poorly maintained and poorly signposted, while the rest of the route is well signposted and in good condition
The highlight of this excursion is La Benedicta, a place that symbolizes the Italian Resistance.
Here, between April 6 and 11, 1944, 75 partisans were summarily executed by soldiers of the Republican National Guard and units of the German army.
Historically the site of an ancient monastery, La Benedicta was mined and completely destroyed after the massacre.
Today, the site serves as a Memorial to the Resistance, established at the initiativeof the Associazione Memoria della Benedicta.
The Path of Peace, which winds through these places, is an integral part of the project to preserve memory, inviting visitors to reflect on one of the most tragic chapters in the history of the Italian Resistance.
Bruno Lake together with Badana Lake and Long Lake are three artificial basins located in the Ligurian Apennines, straddling the provinces of Alessandria and Genoa.
The lakes, exclusively regarding the part within the Alessandrian territory, are included in the Regional Park of Capanne di Marcarolo.
The group of the three lakes is better known as the Gorzente Lakes.
For information about Badana Lake, refer to a previous route of mine (Capanne di Marcarolo - Badana Lake loop)
The itinerary includes the return to the Bocchetta Pass, along the route already traveled during the first stage. From Monte Tobbio, descend to the Dagliola Pass and from here follow the signs for Cascina Carrosina and Monte Figne (indicator post of the Park Authority).

Ottimo in autunno e primavera.
