About the Weißenregen Pilgrimage Church to Blaibach Lake Since December 2005, Bad Kötzting has been a state-recognized Kneipp spa town. However, Bad Kötzting has always been associated with another special feature, the Kötzting Pentecost Ride. Since 1412, one of Europe's largest prayer processions has taken place on Whit Monday. Up to a thousand riders pilgrimage on horseback to Steinbühl, seven kilometers away. Back in Bad Kötzting, the celebrations end with a symbolic Pentecost wedding. Our tour leads from the beautifully designed Bad Kötzting spa park up to the Weißenregen Pilgrimage Church with its remarkable ship pulpit. On pleasant lakeside paths, we then follow the Blaibach reservoir. Bays invite you to linger, rowboats drift on the nearby Höllenstein reservoir. The Seeblick restaurant towers over the two lakes. After crossing the Riederberg on quiet forest paths, beautiful views of the pilgrimage church and Bad Kötzting open up again.

Forecast for Blaibach

10-day forecast
One of the most beautiful hiking tours in Blaibach leads to the well-known "Grosser Arber", the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest. This challenging route stretches for about 15 kilometres and rewards hikers with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Especially in autumn, the Arber shines in a fascinating play of colours due to the colourful foliage.

For families with children, on the other hand, the "family hiking trail" around the district of Arraching is suitable. On this easy trail, little adventurers can explore nature in a playful way and enjoy beautiful views of the surroundings.

Another highlight are the various themed trails in Blaibach. The "Forest History Trail", for example, provides interesting information about the forest habitat and its management. Here you can not only hike, but also learn a lot of new things.

The best seasons for hiking in Blaibach are undoubtedly spring and summer, when everything is green and in bloom, or in the golden autumn, when the trees slowly change colour. In winter, the region transforms into a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts, so that even then there are numerous opportunities for hiking and walking.

Whether challenging routes or leisurely strolls - Blaibach offers something for every hiking enthusiast. The well-signposted hiking trails lead through a varied landscape and always offer new views of the surrounding nature. Whether alone, with the family or with friends - here you can experience the beauty of the Bavarian Forest up close and enjoy unforgettable moments in the midst of nature.

Sehr schöne Rundwanderung wo man auch noch etwas lernen kann. Leider bewirtet das Landhotel Miethaner nur noch Hausgäste. Getränke kann man am Bootsverleih am Höllensteinstausee kaufen. Jederzeit wieder.
