Fourth, short stage of the dry stone wall path/Ruta de Pedra en Sec, popularly called Sa Travessa, also known as GR221 from Port Andratx to Pollenca - this time marked and on a beautifully restored path.
The GR221 is a long-distance hiking trail in the western, more mountainous part of Mallorca, the Tramuntana. Some stages are already marked, others are still in planning, although the trails already exist as hiking paths. This stage 3 has unmarked and marked sections.
The well-marked GR 221 follows in the first section the historic postal route from Banyalbufar to Esporles and further on old mountain and charcoal burner paths to Valldemossa.
With less than 8 kilometers in length, this stage of the GR-221 quickly comes to an end. It mostly goes leisurely through a shady forest on cobblestones, some of which date back to the Arab occupation.
Although winter has just begun, we are already planning the next routes for all of you sun-loving hiking enthusiasts. For next spring, we have again planned the famous GR221 Dry Stone Route.
Join us on a 6-day hiking route through the beautiful Tramuntana mountains in the solitary west of Mallorca. The perfect start to summer for all sun-hungry hikers who want to get to know the well-known island from a completely different side.
Enjoy the warm and mild climate of the Balearic Islands and marvel at the breathtakingly diverse landscape of the island. The hike takes us along the western coast of the country, far from crowds and party tourism. On our route, we climb several peaks over 1000 meters high which offer us a breathtaking panorama over the Mediterranean Sea. The path passes through very varied terrain. From steep and rugged rocky cliffs, remote caves, olive trees, to grasslands with the typical maquis vegetation.
We spend the night in traditional mountain huts and enjoy a delicious 3-course hut menu and Mallorcan wine in the evenings.

Sehr empfehlenswert!
